About Blue Skies PPC
imagine what fun and excitement you can have
Craig McPherson is a fifth generation dairy farmer and rancher. He and Cathie, his wife of 30 plus years, live on a family owned farm located in Blum, TX. They have three grown sons.
Craig dreamed of flying ever since he was a child. But as he grew older he soon realized there was a lot of time and expense needed in getting a General Aviation License.
Many years later he happened to see an article in a Farm Show magazine about powered parachutes. The guy lived in Oklahoma so Craig decided to give him a call. Not long after that he made a trip to see him for an instructional flight. After spending a few hours talking with the instructor and knew powered parachuting was for him. Unfortunately, it was too windy to fly that day. But that didn't matter, he was already hooked.
Craig returned home and soon found someone in a nearby town with a PPC for sale. He bought it. He started out with a smaller brand powered parachute but soon upgraded to a Pegusus PC2000. The next upgrade was to the Pegusus 582. And now he is flying the cadillac of the bunch...the Airwolf 912.
Craig has been flying powered parachutes since 1994, having integrated flying into his work on the farm the use of the PPC on the ranch - checking on cattle and crops. What he really enjoyed was sharing his love of flying. And so Blue Skies was born.
Craig's most enjoyable accomplishment has been becoming a Certified Flight Instructor(CFI). His success as a CFI has allowed him the privilege of becoming acquainted with several celebrities. Ty Murray, 7 time PRCA World Champion and All-Around Cowboy, received his PPC piloting training through Blue Skies PPC. Craig had a grand time flying with Ty and his wife, singer/songwriter Jewel. He also trained Nascar driver, Carl Edwards. County music singer, Blake Shelton, has gone on a recreational flight or two with Blue Skies PPC.
If powered parachuting can thrill these guys imagine what fun and excitement you can have.
"I love seeing and hearing the excitement and pure joy they express the first time I take them up. I also love the feeling it gives me to watch them progress into capable and safe pilots."
"I have met many interesting people and have formed many lifelong friendships since becoming an avid PPC flyer and Certified Flight Instructor. The majority of my best friends are past students and fellow PPC flyers. Being a PPC instructor and pilot has been such a blessing in my life and has given me such wonderful opportunities." - Craig McPherson
